Going Back To Our Roots: Awesome Talaandig Wood Carvings

The Talaandig are not limited to paintings for their art expression. They are also exceptional wood carvers!

Most of the pieces that they carve are farming or musical instruments with the human form artistically portrayed.

Gerard Saway, the artist behind the 4 art pieces, is one of the best carvers in their tribe. As you can see on the photos below, each art piece is made with much dedication and imagination! These pieces only show that the Talaandig are proud of their culture and are ready to show them to the world!

The instrument held by the statue here is actually a farming instrument which makes a sound every time a seed is being planted on the ground. According to Gerard Saway, he made this
statue using a drift wood that the found in their holy river.
