Mactan Newtown will be Officially Unveiled by President Aquino

On February 20, 2013, President Benigno S. Aquino II and Megaworld Chairman & CEO Andrew L. Tan will officially unveil The Mactan Newtown, a flagship township development of real estate leader Megaworld.

"Finally, the official unveiling of our first township in Central Visayas is happening this year. We will be honored to present to President Aquino our 'live-work-play' township concept which Megaworld pioneered in the Philippines," says Jericho Go, First Vice President, Megaworld.

Aside from unveiling session, they will also make a short tour of the township, the job fair, and the new showroom. After delivering his speech, his first stop will be the One World Center, their first BPO office tower.

EnfraUSA and Results Manila, both of which are first-time locators in Cebu, will be the first BPO companies who will grace the One World Center. McDonald's, Megaworld, and Resorts World will also join the job fair.

"We are expecting close to 2,000 employees to fill up One World Center's facilities once the tenants start operating. Two to three more BPO companies are expected to open their offices in The Mactan Newtown this year. We have fully leased out this office tower," Go reveals.

A second BPO tower will be constructed this year because the demand for office spaces in the township is greatly increasing. Two World Center, with a floor area of 7,200 square meters, will be able to accommodate 2,000 more BPO employees. The groundbreaking of this tower will also happen upon the unveiling of the township.

Two to three years from now, 8 Newtown Boulevard and Pacific World Tower will finally be opened. More office spaces will be available for lease and there will be around 13,000 BPO seats in addition.

"With the arrival of Megaworld's tried-and-tested township formula to Cebu, The Mactan Newtown will be adding more jobs in the city. It will also help boost tourism and even retirement options. We are very excited and optimistic about this project as Cebuanos will have another landmark destination to look forward to," says Go.
