Cebu Bloggers Society Inc. hosted the very first Social Good Summit here in Cebu which was held in Marcelo Fernan Cebu Press Center.

This event was made possible by United Nations Foundation and Mashable, with Cebu Bloggers Society Inc. as the local organizer of the summit.

This event was organized for a very good cause. In the advent of modern technology and various problems arising in our society, we are all called for the challenge, “How can new technology and new media create solutions for the biggest problems facing my community?”

University of Cebu Medical Center Media Conference and Inaugural Dinner

Last September 4, 2012, a Media Conference and Inaugural Dinner was held in the Main Ballroom of Marco Polo Hotel Cebu. It is about Cebu's would-be newest tertiary hospital, University of Cebu Medical Center. The Department of Health already approved the construction and the building will be located in North Reclamation Area , Subangdaku, Mandaue City, Cebu. The approval went through the Health Facilities Establishment Review Committee and was stated in a letter from the office of DOH Secretary Dr. Enrique T. Ona, FPCS, FACS to University of Cebu President Atty. Augusto W. Go last July 30, 201.

From left to right: Ms. Candice Gotianuy, Dr. Lito Almendras,  Atty. Augusto W. Go, Dr. Iben Ting and Dr. Steven Seno

University of Cebu Medical Center will be a Level 4 and a General Hospital. It will span across an 8,000 square meter property at the Mandaue North Reclamation Area. It will be the first of its kind in Mandaue City.

University of Cebu will initially invest 2 Billion Pesos for the completion of this project and will soon provide quality but affordable education and medical services. UC will also establish a medical school and medical hospital.

The hospital will be linked to all the merchant marine students, medical and nursing students for their medical accreditation and attention, training, employment, and medical needs. UC students and alumni will also be part of the link because they will receive special discounts.

Ms. Candice Gotianuy with  Atty. Augusto W. Go

University of Cebu is one of the biggest educational institution in the country today, having 4 campuses in the metro and more than 44,000 total student population.

Last 2008, University of Cebu and their partners acquired St. Vincent General Hospital and renovated it to meet the demands of increasing medical attention in Cebu. After their purchase and renovation, PhilHealth accredited St. Vincent General Hospital as a tertiary hospital with a total bed capacity of 100.

Quality but affordable education and medical care will now be elevated towards greater heights because UC-MC will provide special privilege for our less fortunate brothers and sisters.

"We are always searching for ways to improve our services.  With UCMC, medical education and medical care will be enhanced to serve people," as quoted from University of Cebu Chancellor Candice Gotianuy.

John Calub's Free Seminar (How To Think Like a Multi-Millionaire and Become One)

I was so excited when I heard the news that John Calub is coming back to Cebu! My younger brother, Clint Havel, told me that he will be having a free seminar before he would do the Money Magnet, and the title of the seminar was How To Think Like a Multimillionaire and Become One. So I asked for free tickets from my younger brother Clint Havel and also invited some of my friends. I was so happy to know that three of my friends came in to see John Calub for the first time. I would like to thank Cath2x, Luke, and Richel for joining! James and I were so happy to have shared JC with y'all! As for myself, I am always looking forward to see and hear him again. His seminars give me a natural high. As my way of "paying it forward," I will share my notes for you to learn upon.

Photo from the World Wide Web

For the benefit of those who don't know John Calub, he is the Philippines' number 1 success coach. If you are in doubt about this, you have to see him for yourself! John was wearing a black trench coat when he came out of the stage. He jokingly said that he wore the wrong outfit because the auditorium was very hot.

The purpose of the seminar was for all of us to discover the success secrets of the rich and famous that can make us super successful. It was held last August 28, 2012 and September 4, 2012 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at CAP Auditorium, Jones Avenue, Cebu City. The venue was fully-packed, thus, we were constantly sweating, but this did not stop us from having the blast of our lives!

And now......

My notes during the seminar......

Success and Prosperity Principles

You have to THINK, FEEL, and ACT!

1. Thoughts become things!

Are you the type who has a vivid imagination? Keep it going! Did you know that in order for things to manifest in our lives, it has to be manufactured first in our brain! That's the role of our imagination! If you are not the type who likes to imagine, please practice now before it's too late. Imagination too entails a lot of practice!

John Calub
2. Ask Ask Ask!

Are you wondering why you have not received anything in your life? Perhaps you have not ASKED yet! How? You can start by imagination! You can pray to our Divine Source! You can write a list on your notebook!

Example:
1. I want to have a fit body or something so much better by January 1, 2013.
2. I want to travel to Angkor Wat in Cambodia or something so much better within this year.
3. I want to eat in Aziza Restaurant or something so much better within this month.
4. I want to have a handsome, well-off, and well-mannered boyfriend or something so much better TODAY because I never had a boyfriend and I'm already 27 years old!

When you ask, please be specific, ok?

Scenario 1

3 friends were asking God for money. Friend 1 asked for 1 million pesos. Friend 2 asked for 2 million pesos in one year. Friend 3 asked to receive 300,000 Pesos daily. Then God decided to give them what they wanted on the very same day. For friend 1, he would probably give the 1 million pesos in 48 years because he did not specify WHEN he would like to receive it. For friend 2, he will give it exactly 2 years from now because he SPECIFIED when he would like to receive it. Friend 3 will have an amazing day because he will be receiving 300,000 Pesos every day! 300,000 Pesos x 365 days = you do the math!

Once again, BE SPECIFIC!

John Calub

3. You are the average of 5 people you are always with.

Write on a piece of paper 5 names of people you are always with. Ask them for their income and write it beside their names. Add their income and get the average. Chances are, the answer to that is your monthly salary!

Mang Jose                         10,000 Pesos
Berting Istambay             100 Pesos
Marichoi Chismosa     +    5,000 Pesos
Nurse Grace                      15,000 Pesos
Mama Maria                      20,000 Pesos
50,100 Pesos divided by 5 is equals to

10,020 Pesos!!!

If you want to be rich and successful, hang out with RICH and SUCCESSFUL people every week!

"Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you how much you earn every month!"

John Calub

From T. Harv Eker

4. To become the best, learn from the best!

If you want to be rich, learn it from rich people! If you want to be a great salesman, learn  from the greatest salesman! If you want to be the best manicurista or barbero, learn from the best in the country!

John Calub

5. Never, ever, seek the advice of poor people!

No offense to the poor, but if you want to become rich, don't ask questions from poor people because they don't know the answer to what you seek for.  Again, learn it from the rich and successful because they were able to achieve greatness and because they know how to do it.

Eager beavers just like me!

6. Change your money blueprint.

This is otherwise known as money programming. This is the amount of money that you are comfortable having and keeping. For example, after your "sueldo" or monthly salary has been given, your ATM always has 500 pesos after you have spent everything. That is your money blueprint, which means that you are comfortable having 500 on your ATM. Even  if your monthly salary has increased to billions and you have not REPROGRAMMED your money blueprint, your ATM will always keep, guess what? 500 Pesos!

Eager beavers just like me!

7. Study the art and science of persuasion.
  • How to handle money
  • How to persuade
Are you familiar with the Cash Flow Quadrant? If not, please do a research on this. Read Robert Kiyosaki's Rich Dad Poor Dad.

Photo from the World Wide Web
8. Fire yourself!
  • Hire intelligent and hardworking people to work for you!
9. Have multiple sources of passive income!

Is your monthly salary your only source of money? Perhaps it's time for you to invest in a business you are passionate with. If you love to cook, you can open a restaurant. If you love to eat, you can also open a restaurant! You can invest in stock market, foreign exchange, mutual funds, and so much more! Don't give me that "It's too risky!" response or else, I will come there and pour rotten soup over you!

10. Manage your money!

Be responsible. Don't expect to become rich if all you do each month is spend it on eating out on restaurants every day, partying all night every weekend, and watching movies three times a month without even allotting specific amount of money for investment. Don't give me that "Eh kasi, konti lang ang kinikita ko every month, eh!" response or else!
11. Learn Money Magnetment!
  • Learn the principle of "Pay It Forward."
  • Share your blessings.
  • Heal your karma.

Eager beavers just like me!

12. Use more of your mind by synchronizing your left and right brain.

Did you know that Einstein uses 15% of his brain when he is conscious while we only use 3%? Now you know!

Luke, Cath Claire, Richel, and my Dear James are certified John Calub students and fanatics!

 From Tony Robbins

13. Be aware of your state!

Be aware that you need improvement. Be aware of what you want so that you can ask for it. Be aware that many people are poor. Be aware that you can help them. Be aware!

This photo was taken from John Calub's Facebook account. (taken last August 28, 2012 in CAP Auditorium). My friends and I are in the fifth row in the left.

From Donald Trump

14. Do what you love and love what you do!
  • Start early finish wealthy!
  • How you do small things is what you do with big things!
15. Be careful who you trust!

The world is full of opportunistic bacteria, if you know what I mean.

16. In tough times, be tough!

Even if your breakfast, lunch, afternoon merienda, dinner, and midnight snack is rejection, be tougher still!

"Whatever happens, don't let anybody steal your dreams away from you!"

Be like a horse, with covers in their eyes and keeping his EYES ON THE PRIZE!

Before I end my blog, let me give you one last line.

"I believe you and I bless you!"
